Minor Works Certification

Newton Electrical Contractors Ltd issue an NICEIC Minor Works Certification to confirm that any electrical installation work that has been designed by us is constructed and inspected and tested in accordance with the British Standard 7671-2008 (IEE Wiring Regulations). This Certificate is only issued for additions, alterations and replacements to an installation that does not extend to a new circuit, for example an additional socket outlet or lighting point on an existing circuit.


If more extensive work is required, for example a new ring main or lighting circuit an Electrical Installation Certificate is required (see Installation Certificate in this site for further details).


Newton Electrical Contractors are NICEIC Approved Domestic Installers and will issue direct to the person ordering the work the original Minor Works Certificate, a duplicate is held in our office for administration purposes. All Minor Works Certification should be retained in a safe location as this will be required for future inspections or further work carried out on the premisis. If you vacate the property it will also be required to demonstrate that any work has been carried out by an approved electrician to BS 7671 standards.
