Any Domestic, Industrial or Commercial Electrical Installation is required to meet certain Safety Standards set by the Electrical Safety Council. This is seen to be fullfilled when the installation complies with the IEE Wiring Regulations BS7671-2008.


Where an installation fails to meet the IEE Wiring Regulations, due consideration should be given to replacing any old wiring, switches, light fittings, fuse boxes, etc, with new.


Do You Think You Need a Rewire?


The most cost effective way to determine if you required rewire, is to carry out a periodic inspection. This is carried out to establish if your installation has degraded over its time in operational use. No installation has an unlimited life and hidden failures such as deteriorated cable insulation can go unseen and undetected unless a periodic inspection is carried out on a regular basis. The IEE Wiring Regulations recommend that domestic properties are inspected about every 10 years.
